Mazie's Blessing Day

It was a really great day. I started out feeling a little anxious because I felt there was so much to get done with having family come after church to eat. But after about an hour of this I prayed that I could feel calm and focus on the most important part--Mazie's blessing. After that I felt very calm and was able to really enjoy such a special day.
Aunt Peggy made Mazie's beautiful blessing dress. I wanted her to be able to have this from Aunt Peggy because I think it is a special dress for a girl to have and wanted it to be from someone special. Sewing is such a great talent that Aunt Peggy has.

Rob blessed Mazie and the spirit was very strong. I am so grateful to have the gospel in our lives to help guide us, especially on how to raise our children.
After the blessing we had great food. (Thanks to all of you who helped!) My mom joked that it is kind of cruel to have dinner at the new mothers house. I lauged and thought that was pretty funny. Luckily everyone was so willing to help out that it was easy! A special thanks to my mom who saved me a few days before when i was feeling so stressed. My land-lord had called early in the morning and said that I needed to show the house and cleaning is hard to keep up with a new-born. So to have it super-duper clean seemed a little daunting. She saved the day and helped me deep clean the house. Thanks so much mom! I'm lucky to have you. (Sorry for the tangent, back to the blessing day!)

Dear friends from Provo, Patti and Pablo Hernandez came to the blessing. They sadly missed an exit and arrived just a few minutes too late for the blessing. I felt bad that they had missed it but thought it was super sweet they would drive to far to come to the blessing.

Liberty loved the new drinking pitcher. Later in the evening she, Taiton, and Drew would be found mixing root beer and lemon water and making a big mess by the back door. :) Those rascals. They were having the time of their lives.

These 3 girls were playing hard in the back room and soon Kate would join them for some dress up (Kate would be Snow White of course).
After the stomachs had settled, Rob and Miller started an intense tournament of Bad mitten (or "good" mitten as Rob liked to call it). It was fun because most everyone got involved. The Stevenson girls lived up to their reputation. Thank goodness we have recruited Chelsea who held her own.

Happy by standers waiting their turn.

The winners of the tournament were Rob and Miller. Hmm...fishy.

It was a great day and I am so grateful to have such supportive family and a husband with the priesthood.

Mazie at 1 month

She is already plumping up quite nicely! The chubbiness has begun.

She goes cross-eyed a lot and I think it is so funny. You can tell she is just trying so hard to focus in on my face when I am talking to her and then those eyes start going crossed and finally she can't take it anymore and they uncross. It always makes me laugh.

I sure love having her around. She is a really good baby (like all my kids have been). She really only cries when she is hungry (sometimes around 9 pm she gets a little fussy but that's it). She slept through the night from 11 pm to 6 am already and she usually sleeps a good 6 hour chunk but it just depends when she goes down to bed whether I will be waking up in the middle of the night. I already have such a bond to her (I think because I have felt so good and have really been able to enjoy her rather than feeling so delirious and tired.) I feel really lucky how easy having number 3 has been. I love being a mother!
